We love riding out from the kennels. Nice meet, great job Kami with the hounds! We are nearing the end of the season, and had a wonderful, fast hunt at Tuckaway.

great job Wentworth field hunters! we almost swept the Sr. Qualified division: Ann (Wow) 1st, Sue (Hannah) 2nd, Rachel (Pippin) 3rd, and Daun (Brego) 5th! and then we took the top two places in Team Division (Sue, Ann, Jen 1st, and Alyssa, Rachel, Daun 2nd). Yuki (Chester), Jen (Raleigh), Alyssa (Trinidad), and Sue (O'Brien) competed in the Novice Division. thank you to fence judges from our club: Diane, Walker and Susan. bravo! We had a great contingent (6 or 8 from Wentworth ;-) at the Joint Meet on Saturday, hosted by Myopia: Ann on Wow, Walker on Cali, Jen on Raleigh, Kelly on Chandraki, Lisa D. on Court, Chuck on Fig, Yuki on Chester, Sarah on Daatje, Kim on Grace, Emma on Napoleon, Kerry on Truman, Linda on Sterling, Edie on Anthem, Cynthia F. on Robyen, Cynthia P. on Andy, Ann on Cygnus, Karen I. on Valor, Cody on Media Luna and dana on Gladys. Most rode in First Field. Myopia were wonderful hosts. great formal season hunt from Prodigue Farm. thank you to our gracious landowners for a lovely hunt, to huntsman and staff for a new route, adding a great field to gallop. nice "gone away" before stirrup cup ... fastest to the top was new member Marti on her thoroughbred Markie. i remember Daun's GPS capturing a 29.7 mph run up that hill in the past! great to see our former fox and longtime Wentworth member Ruth C. at the tea! thank you Sarah and dana for the photos, still snow on the ground from the early-season, October snowstorm -- fun to hunt in the snow.

GREAT COSTUMES!!! congratulations to Master's Award winners: Yuki, Edie & Diane. a lot of fun. a little red vixen hunted the hounds, joined by the Grim Reaper, a biker chick (sporting “born to ride” tattoo), Superman, the Queen, a samurai, Raggedy Ann, expectant nun, jesters, what was Jan?, some misfits, and many ordinary foxhunters. thank you Grant for hosting another lovely hunt, and Amanda for foxing. good pictures from the field Sarah ... make for great memories.

Once again, we marked the opening of Formal Season at Yorkfield Farm, Sat 1-Oct, with the traditional Blessing of the Hounds, where Reverend Carol Waleryzak officiated. We dedicated this Hunt and Season in loving memory of honorary member, whipper-in, occasional huntsman, and longtime Field Secretary Arthur Williams, and to other four-legged friends we have lost this past year, including retired foxhound Whiskey Road Seldom, and Lauretta’s Angel. The ceremony traces its roots to St. Hubert, patron saint of hunters who was born into nobility in 7th Century French Aquitaine. This annual tradition is a rite observed by hunts all over the world and going back many years. As Fall is now upon us, we usher in our formal season, with its more formal, traditional attire, plus longer and faster hunts as hound, horse, rider & hound are now fit & prepared.
