Lighthouse District held its 2010 Pinewood Derby on Saturday, March 6th at Calvary Chapel in Ft. Lauderdale. Organized by Mr. Steve Simoneaux for the 5th year in a row, he was assisted by Mr. Daugherty, Dr. Chen and many scouts from Troop 397. 71 cub scouts competed in this fun event that also raised money for Lighthouse District. Troop 397 celebrated the Centennial of Scouting in the USA by holding a special Winter Court of Honor on February 9, 2010 at Riverside Elementary. This included an Eagle Court of Honor for 67th Eagle Scout Daniel Barb.

On January 16th, Troop 397 hosted its 6th Annual Rocket Derby. This year, Pack 246 participated and a blast was had by all. These are pictures taken by organizer Dr. David Chen who has held rocket derbies for 10 consecutive years.

Troop 397 65th Eagle Scout, Daniel Tracy, was honored on December 20, 2009 at First United Methodist Church for his attainment of the Eagle rank. These are pictures taken by Dr. Chen

Alex Simoneaux completed the final phase of his eagle project on Deember 19th, 2009 at the Boys and Girls Club of Pompano Beach. Alex and volunteers from Troop 397 assembled and transported a backpack rack and 3 picnic tables that were appreciated by the club.

On December 16th, 2009, Troop 397 and Crew 497 participated in Coral Spring's Annual Holiday Parade. At the end of the parade, Dr. Chen representing Crew 497 provided hot chocolate and cookies to the participants. He also provided treats for Pack 397, Pack 246 and some band members.

Troop 397 and Crew 497 celebrated the Holidays and end of the year with its annual Holiday Dinner. Celebrating the ethnic, cultural and religious diversity of its members, attendees enjoyed a sumptious feast. Pictures in this album were taken by Dr. David Chen.

Troop 397 and Crew 497 marched in the Coral Springs Holiday parade held on December 16, 2009. Marching as part of the Kiwanis of Coral Spring's entry, members enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies provided by Dr. Chen of Crew 497 afterwards.

Troop 397 held its sixth annual Holiday dinner on December 15, 2009 at Riverside Elementary School. Celebrating the Troop's ethnic, cultural and religious diversity, members were joined by Crew 497 for the first time. Pictures in this album were taken by Mr. Robert Vilan.

Troop and Crew members enjoyed the many activities at the event and also provided service in a big way, assisting with the scoutshop, rocketry booth, wii booth, national jamboree booth and OA display. OA members assisted with the Pollo Tropical dinner on Friday night.
