Most of the photos were taken in 1967: London, Hyde Park, & the Summer Institute of Linguistics course. Stonehenge, Avesbury etc. were visited in 2002.
Johan directed an underwater archaeology project in Lake Titicaca during 1987-92, mainly at a ceremonial site near Koa, an islet near Island of the Sun. Finds are being kept in a site museum at Challapampa on Island of the Sun and a ceremony to worship the lake and surrounding mountains is documented.
Lines and figures drawn in the sand (geoglyphs) near Nazca in Peru and images of artifacts and associated sites in the region. Most images of the geoglyphs were taken in the early 1980s before they were swept clean for better viewing, while some (so noted) were taken November, 2008. A couple of geoglyphs are from other areas (so noted).

Solo ascents in 1981 of both summits of Ojos del Salado & of nearby peaks: Cazadero (Walter Penck), Nacimiento, & Aguas Calientes, and Incahuasi (ascent from Chile).
First expedition to the Hidden Crater (also called the Caldera del Inca) south of Ojos del Salado in Argentina (1986). The crater rim is at 18,000' and we carried gear 1,200' down to a 5 km long lake and collected plankton samples. Peaks climbed that surround the crater include Pissis, Bonete, Veladero and Reclus, the latter two with Inca ruins on their summits.
The Yawar Fiesta involves the capture and tying of a condor on a bull that is then used in a bullfight. The condor is traditionally believed by indigenous peoples to represent the mountain god and the fiesta relates to the fertility of the coming year. The first images are of the condor's capture, followed by normal bullfighting, then the condor is used,, followed by a parade and the two condors being let free.
The ruins of Chavin de Huantar and scenes from the surrounding region (eastern side) of the Cordillera Blanca. Most images were taken during the 1980s with some in 2000.
Views in (and of) the Cordillera Blanca are follwed by views to it from the Cord Negra, then photos of ruins,, etc. in the Cord Negra and towards the Cord Blanca. Finally there are a few scenes at ruins in the Callejon de Huaylas and Recuay stonework.
