I saw this rustic place-card holder idea on Martha Stewart's website. They used wine corks with a teeney slit on the top of them for the card. http://images.marthastewart.com/images/content/web/pdfs/2007Q4/bp_1107_placecards.pdf is a nice template for the cards.

we had this dresser that we used in our office. it was nice, but after I saw a painting technique I hadn't tried before - I wanted to give it a facelift. so I put on two coats of green, one dark, one light and took off a lot of the lighter paint while wet with a dry brush. the end result - a distressed dresser!

i take a free table, some chipped plates and voila - an outdoor table is born.
