Highlights of our camping trip to the Olympic Peninsula Aug 6-9, 2009. We visited Hurricane Ridge, Port Angeles, The Hoh rainforest in Olympic National Park, Rialto Beach, and Port Townsend.
Rhiannon went to the American Girl store in Chicago with her mom, Aunt Barb, and Grandma Susan. She doll Nikki got her hair done, they had tea, and they went Christmas shopping with money from Barb, Gma, Mom, and Nana & Grandpa Ron.
Collected 50 T.d. with Steff Zimsen. Times on computer are off by ~1 hour; real time is 56 minutes earlier. Dive logs were adjusted. Duration was 32 min bottom time (~1220p-1252p PST); 26 min duration for photos beginning to end. Max depth was 50 ft, but most collection done between 30-35 ft. Tide height was ~10 to 8ft MLLW (ebb).
My grad students and I went on a research collecting cruise on the Research Vessel (R.V.) Pt. Sur [http://marineops.mlml.calstate.edu/ptsur.html], operated by the Moss Landing Marine Labs. The trip was organized by Prof. Gregor Cailliet and was attended by two classes, as well as researchers from San Jose State, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.
