It took place at the Van's on the hill restaurant. There were 8 tables of LIons and friends celebrating this occasion. 33% of PDGs and 25% of the district clubs were there and this showed the support and love for this small yet active SMLC under our new president, Lion Elaine Borland's leadership. The evening was fun many awards were given. Michael was very happy to receive a service appreciation award for Legacy Through Giving from LCI for it's contribution to SightFirst II besides the what it should be a progressive Melvin Jones Award for both Macy and Michael Chan. Legacy Through Giving is now accepting application for any 501 c3 non-profits to be a beneficiary organization for the 2010 Giving Through Fashion Gala to be held at Hyatt Regency on Easter Saturday. I do not have the horned pond week photos. I will take more photos of samples next time I go up to Fountain Lake. Question: Do you know if I should and where can I get the seed or seedlings for say: pond edible vegetables, non-invasive colorful water lily. water chestnut, flowers, etc.

Again, this is a great and motivating celebration for the Lions knowing that Dr. Tam will be a great president. I wish more or my Lions friends are there. I am looking forward to the next three years of Conventions and activities. The statistic at the end of Dr. Tam's term will be unbelievable and untouchable and we all know that and will support him.

This is the most important party of the Convention with all VIPs and most Lions all decked out and looked handsome and beautiful. In this part, I leaned how much really does the LCI upper class Lions think of Dr. Tam. All of them praised him and look forward to him as the future great president. Even Joe, say something like this on stage during the China Night or Dragon Night celebration, " Dr. Tam will be the best president for LCI." That will bring some attention to all. Dr. Tam , all of us, Chinese and otherwise is very happy for you and proud of you for your devotion and abiliies. Just mention it and we will be there to do whatever you want.

If you want to attend a classy reception, make sure to drop by any party hosted by the HK Tourism Board and by the HK Lions. Everyone is a VIP with a blue sash? Yes, we love the party favor, a beautiful Lion luggage tag. There were tons of excitement and joy in the room. Dr. Tam was praised by all upper LCI VIPs for his dedication and accomplishment.

This is a party with excitement, pride and joy for all at the party. Dr. Tam has given the Chinese Lions and Lions of the World something to rejoice and proud. Every Lion who knows him is happy and looking forward to having him as president of LCI in a couple of years. He will do a great job for people of the world.

There were 2 bands and practically every one was fired up for this demonstration. There were 2 Chinese Dancing Lions (as in animal) doing the demonstration on stage too.

Minnesota is a State with 10,000 lakes and it is very green and clean. Yes, it gets very cold and some of the lakes freeze to a depth of 4 ft.

This is a very happy occasion for Andy and Chalida Lee. It is their first Yoppi store located on 475 Sansome, S.F. Downtown. It was a comfortable indication to see so many customers and friends present. Macy was told the opening would be at 12:30 pm and it turned out to be 12:00 noon and so I missed the long line around the block waiting to have a taste of the special formulated Yoppi Yogurt. Congratulation, Andy and Chalida and of course to Joe and Debbie too.

Fundraiser for the Asian American Cancer Support Nework. The silent auction was very impressively decorated and layout. Many individuals, who has helped the Legacy Through Giving "Giving through Fashion Gala" last March 22, were also volunteers and organizers at this fun event. Betty Hsu and Elaine Yu were the fashion show producers. Macy and I were glad to see so many friends and LTG supporters there: Monique Zhang, Gerrye Wong, Carol Chen, Beverly Yip, JD Wang, Antonia Tu, Luisa Wu, Rose Chung, Jeffrey DDS, Jasmine and Jackie Na, Crystal Lee, etc. Congratulations to all.

It was a delightful finger food and fashion event and the proceeds of this event will support the Asian Chefs Foundation's Christmas Food Drive for the homeless, low-income families and youth. A total of 3000 hot meals will be distributed at the Glide Memorial Church on Dec. 15. Please visit www.acasf.com. Fashion designer QC Pham showed off his various designs for both men and women with beautiful models. The China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe came to performed in S.F. for the first time. Lion Tam Wing Kun of Hong Kong approach Macy and Michael at the Lion Club International Convention in Honolulu and asked them to make arrangement to get the Troupe to performance in S.F. as their last city during a 6 cities tour across the US. It was a great occasion and the performance was a great success and since then, CDPPAT has come to visit California several times. They will be here again in October 2008 to perform at the San Jose Performing Arts Center and is sponsored by the Cantonese Opera Association of Silicon Valley.

LTG wants to thank Bob Twomey, Kelenia Olsen and Assemblywoman Fiona Ma for their supporting for this new non-profit movement of helping multiple of non-profits to raise funds. Bob and Kelenia, this opening ceremony by the America Heroes and the Junior ROTC band has set the standard for others to follow. Thanks for a great job done. I still can remember the meeting we had at a sidewalk cafe in S.F. to choreography this segment. Let's talk about next year's. Fiona has already committed to help LTG.
