With a quick trip to Florida for his Mom's birthday we managed to get a lot of great photos of almost the whole family. Unfortunately, both Grandsons were missing (Johnny & Josh). Otherwise this is the most family we've had together in a long while!

Christmas was wonderfully quiet at our home. We did have friends of Johnny's come over (Jeff, Eva, Tommy & baby Jeff) otherwise it was just us. We had a great time with our usual family traditions, including everyone's favorite of decorating the sugar cookies.

With the new 12' tree it requires a rather tall ladder to get the top of the tree properly decorated. Still the paper chain Johnny made in kindergarten is apparently more fun to throw on the top of the tree. (It did take him about 4 tries to get it right though... lol)

Thanksgiving 2008 - Fantastic! It was wonderful having my whole family home and at the dinner table. We had the usual Wednesday night chestnut peeling event, then the kids 'broke bread' (literally). Afterwards, we played UNO attack until we were all exhausted and sore from laughing so much! What a great holiday!!!

Paige had a project in Child Development class last week. She was all excited for weeks before, preparing the 'car seat' and 'crib'. Unfortunately John and I were in the Bahamas and never got to meet our GrandEgg, but she did leave us tons of photos.... BTW, she didn't get to know until the delivery if it was going to be a boy or girl...

John and I had a great time on our cruise to the Bahamas. Unfortunately hurricane Paloma detoured our voyage and instead of St. Thomas we went to Costa Maya, Cozumel and Nassau. I'll pop back in later to label the photos, but not tonight. Still I wanted to share.....

I never even got to see Paige in her Pirate costume... Lily was ready and gone....

John recently went to Michigan for the Hartley Family Reunion. He had a great time but unfortunately it rained the day of the reunion. Because he had Johnny's camera we found a couple of cute ones of him and his friend Jaycee from his trip to Kingsland, GA

Lily had some friends over for Rock Band and cake. A few of them also spent the night... They were up all night on soda and sugar...

We met up with John's mom and sister's (Cathi) family for Aquatica and then stayed an extra day for SeaWorld with her kids Megan & Joshua. It was Megan's first time at SeaWorld! *in the SeaWorld shows, click through the photos quickly for a better look at the shows....

We went down to St. Petersburg, FL for the 4th of July and spent time with John's family.

We spent 4 days at the lake, but this time seemed a bit different. Both girls brought friends and were off on their own most of the time (ah, growing up!) and I actually spent a lot of time in the water, where my camera can't go.... Good news, I have a killer tan (well, that just means that I look like most of the population now - I no longer glow in the dark... lol!)

Yesterday it rained most of the day, so we didn't do very much. Today we went on a nature walk & got to see a deer very up close and personal (maybe 3 ft away walking towards us!) & then we also went on a sky lift (I was VERY BRAVE!!!). The most exciting thing I don't have a photo of though - on the way up the hill back to our room, a teenage black bear was right in front of us!! (I think he was getting into someone's garbage.) It was too dark to get a photo.... darn!
