For over three hours, the Boy Scout Troop 101 of Marvin helped The Second Chance Boutique Store. A large ‘pile’ of donated items was transferred out of the building and into storage “PODS”. Warehouse space was lost to clean and prepare donated clothing, household items, phones, etc. Community support made non-stop contributions. This is a good problem for the new Store.
Scouts placed items into new bags, moved the ‘pile’ into the “PODS”, filling it completely. The Scout’s community service did not end there. Storage shelving and racks were then assembled and erected in the 30-FT by 25-FT space where the pile had been.
The shelter extends helping hands to more than 80 people at their shelter and in the community. http://unioncountyturningpoint.org/index.
